Project Description: VTT executed the PERSI Project that entailed gender analysis of educational, livelihood, political, health, decision making, access to services & rights, power & decision making domains in 11 districts of Punjab, Sindh and Karachi. Salient Features of the exercise were:
VTT hired experienced local FGD moderators/note-takers having knowledge of the local languages/culture. Field teams were trained on the approved instrument/guides. Training included role-plays/lecture sessions, followed by pre-test in Multan. The instrument was revised based on pilot testing feedback. VTT Liaison Officers coordinated with local CSOs in target districts to identify FGD locations/participants. The FGDs were administered to the ordinary citizens of Sindh, Punjab and Karachi regions. VTT team also conducted Key Informant Interviews with key decision-makers, govt. officials and CSOs. Qualitative/quantitative data were analyzed and draft project report was prepared.
